E-mail marketing – what it is and what it isn’t

E-mail marketing is:

  • a great way to keep in contact with your customers and prospects and provide them with material that’s of interest to them
  • very cost effective when compared to print and snail mail communication
  • relatively easy to carry out, even for non-techies

E-mail marketing isn’t:

  • an alternative to cold calling (don’t use purchased lists, they will get you in trouble!)
  • an excuse to show-off your programming skills
  • for everyone – unfortunately Spam is in the eye of the beholder (or in this case the email receiver)
